Book Talk: Duncan Marquiss

In the spirit of ‘Curating the Library’ (founded by Moritz Küng at deSingel in 2003) Duncan Marquiss has been invited to select publications to become part of the Eastside Projects Library. For Book Talk he will discuss how each title informs his practice.
Marquiss makes drawings, paintings and videos that explore notions of a not quite humanised nature, drawing upon the cultural history of the uncanny and the sublime, and the failure to articulate it. He is represented by Dicksmith Gallery with resent solo presentation at Nachdrag, Peter Kilchmann Gallery, Zurich (2008) and The Clay Wall and The Changing Room Gallery, Stirling (2007). In 2009 he took part in the LUX Associate Artists Programme and in 2008 was awarded the Scottish Arts Council residency, Cove Park, Scotland.
